About the company
By the end of the last century, a GerMan family Winkle got the idea to expand their business activities to include our area, so in the year 1886 has been established in Sevnica a company for Manufacturing shoe lasts. Nearness of rich surrounding forests contributed to this decision.
The old mill was rebuilt into a factory building, setting up of machines and of other devices were soon made, so that first pair of lasts was made on October 11, 1886. First they set up the steam-boiler in 1892, where they steamed semi-products. The building contractor Smrekar has constantly built in Kopitarna, so that the factory turned into the largest shoe last company of its branch. With decree concerning foundation of the company (LRS ) on 31 October 1946 the factory got the name „KOPITARNA SEVNICA". The name of the company is still today the same. After 1973, they built a new plant of plastic semi-products, mechanical workshop, electro workshop and a part of wooden footwear production.
The building was completed in summer 1975. Afterwards in 1975, we began with the production of polyethylene lasts on the new machines. During the years we modernized our production programme of shoe lasts with top knowledge and technology. We also expanded our production programme of shoe trees and footwear. During previous years the production of footwear increased remarkably due to the growing demand for articles made of natural materials like wood, cork and leather. Our shoes are made with love and devotion, people from all generations like their Fashionable and sporty design which is appropriate for various requirements and purposes. We want our customers to feel good and Comfortable in our shoes. The fact that our products are also worn at work made us very proud. Future developments are more and more adapted to this purpose. Hundred years of tradition are felt in every step.
